Tanya’s background is electrical engineering and project management. She attained her electrical engineering degree at University of Wollongong while working as a trainee for some of Wollongong’s local metal refining and manufacturing plants. She has consolidated that knowledge recently with her project management CAPM accreditation and her Masters of Business Administration.
Tanya has spent a number of years working for women’s causes, from being a Playgroup leader as a young mum, to Regional Coordinator for MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and Women’s Minister for Wollongong Church of Christ. She is passionate about women’s issues and empowering them to have greater choices in life, especially those who may feel disenfranchised, such as older women, single mothers and LGBTIQA+ women.
Tanya enjoys combining her people management skills, developed through many years working in leadership in not-for-profit organisations, with her engineering and project management skills, where she can make a real difference with her ability to understand trade-off situations and solve complex problems for the best long term strategic solution.
Life Motto: Be the best person you can be and empower those around you to be their best.
